The national flag of the Kingdom of Bhutan consists of field divided diagonally from the lower hoist to the upper fly creating two triangles and spliting the field yellow over orange. Centered along the division is a white thunder dragon facing into the fly noting Bhutan's ethnic title as "The Land of the Dragon." In its claws are clasped jewels representing wealth. Yellow symbolizes the secular monarchy, while orange represents Buddhism.
The Kingdom of Bhutan is one of the few national flags to feature orange as a prominent colour, and joins Wales as one of the only two two national flags to depict a dragon.
