The flag of the Republic of Paraguay known locally as the bandera de Paraguay was adopted in 1842. It is one of two national flags, which bear a different emblem on the obverse and reverse sides of the flag a distinction it shares with Moldova.
The basic design of the flag consists of three equal, horizontal bands of red, white, and blue and bears resemblance to the flag of the Netherlands. Centered in the white band is anemblem. On the obverse side of the flag is the national coat of arms of Paraguay consisting of a yellow five-pointed star surrounded by a green wreath. Two concentric circles complete the design with one bearing the motto “REPUBLICA DEL PARAGUAY” translating to “Republic of Paraguay.”
Flags Measures 36 in x 60 in and are 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
On the reverse side is the seal of the Paraguayan treasury consisting of a yellow lion below a red liberty cap. Again a two circles design bears the motto “Paz y Justicia” transalating to “Peace and Justice.”
