The flag of the Republic of Zimbabwe consists of seven equal horizontal bands of green, yellow, red, black, red, yellow, and green with a white isosceles triangle edged in black with its base on the hoist side. In the triangle, a yellow Zimbabwe bird rests on a basket which is superimposed against a red five-pointed star in the centre.
The Zimbabwe bird represents the nation's long history both as an independent country and its territorial past and is the National Emblem of Zimbabwe. The white triangle stands for peace and the nation's "way forward". The Red Star commemorates internationalism and the ruling Socialist party's grasp of power.
Each stripe colour also has significant meaning. The centre black stripe is the African people around which the nation is also centred. Red is the blood shed in attaining independence from European colonists. Yellow is the country's wealth of resources and green its fertile and vegetative land.
Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
