The national flag of Burundi was adopted on March 28, 1967. It is a basic white saltire (Saint Andrew's Cross) design that divides the field into four areas, two green, and two red. In the centre is a circle containing three stars each representing one of the three major indigenous groups of Burundi: the Hutu, the Twa and the Tutsi. Three stars commemorate the three elements of the national motto: unity, work and progress. The colour green symbolises hope, white is purity and red the blood shed for independence.
Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
