The Republic of Congo flag (also known as the Congo-Brazzaville) was adopted on 18 August 1958 by a newly independent republic within the French Community of Africa. The new republic was the 5th African nation to adopt Pan-African colours. Ghana had began the process to recognize Ethiopia who was the only region of Africa to successfully resist colonisation.
The flag consists of a field which is divided diagonally from the lower hoist to the upper fly by a thick yellow stripe. Above the stripe is a green triangle and below is a green triangle.
When Marxist Leninists took control of the Republic in 1970, they introduced a Soviet style flag. When the People's Republic collapsed in 1992, the former independence era flag was reintroduced and remains active today.
Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
