Midway Island or Atoll is part of the United States Minor Outlying Islands and as such does not have specific status within the United States. It is administered by the Department of the Interior who's main objective is to administer a series of under water communication cables which pass through the islands. The official flag of the Midway Atoll (Islands) is the flag of the United States of America known as "Old Glory."
The unofficial flag of the Midway Islands consists of a field divided into two horizontal sections by thick white stripe or line. The stripe divides the flag roughly two thirds above the line and one third below it. Above is a sky blue horizon and below is the turquoise ocean. The white stripe is the beach separating the water from the air. A Laysan Albatross soars above in silhouettes of black and white against the blue. The flag symbolises the Island's natural environment.
Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
