Royal Standard of Canada Flag - Queen's Personal Canadian Flag
SKU: QRC35P

In 1962, Her Majesty The Queen adopted a personal flag for use in Canada. The design comprises the Arms of Canada reflecting the royal symbols of Great Britain and France (the three royal lions of England, the royal lion of Scotland, the royal fleurs-de-lis of France and the royal Irish harp of Tara. On the bottom portion of the shield is a sprig of three Canadian maple leaves representative of Canadians of all origins  Imposed over the Arms is the Queen's own device which is the initial ‘E' in gold surmounted by the St. Edward's Crown within a chaplet of roses on a blue background.

When the Queen is in Canada, this flag is flown, day and night, at any building in which She is in residence. Generally, the flag is also flown behind the saluting base when She conducts troop inspections, on all vehicles in which she travels, and on Her Majesty's Canadian Ships (HCMS) when the Queen is aboard. Normally, personal flags and standards are broken from the flag pole as members of the Royal Family step on the saluting base or enter a building and are lowered as they leave. Her Majesty's Personal Canadian flag and standards of members of the Royal Family will take precedence before the national flag; however they must never be they are never half-masted. Custody of the Royal standard is with the Household staff at Rideau Hall and protocol sets out when the flag is to be flown.

Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
