The Aruba Flag was officially adopted on March 18, 1976, to commemorate the day in 1948 upon which the Netherlands recognised Aruba's right to choose autonomous status within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.Aruba’s flag is made up of four powerful colors: Larkspur Blue the colour of the United Nations forms the flag’s field and symbolises the sea surrounding the Island nation. Bunting yellow, the colour of abundance represents the island’s past and its industries of gold, aloe, and petroleum. Union Jack Red symbolises the love of each Aruban for their country and the ancient industry of harvesting Brazilwood. White symbolises Aruba’s snow-white beaches and the purity of the hearts of Aruban’s who strive for justice, order and liberty. The flag consist of a red star and two yellow stripes against a sea of blue. The red star marks the four points of the compass, with the Islands population drawn from around the world. The star also represents the island itself, surrounded by the beautiful blue sea. The horizontal yellow stripes denote the free and separate status Aruba enjoys within the Kingdom of the Netherlands Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
