Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Flag SKU: VCT35P
The flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was adopted on October 21, 1985. It is composed of three vertical bands of blue, yellow and green with three diamonds centered in the yellow band forming the letter V for Vincent. The diamonds commemorate Saint Vincent as the "gems of the Antilles". Blue represents the tropical sky and the crystal waters, yellow symbolises the golden Grenadine sands, and green marks the islands' lush vegetation.
As a colony, the islands flew a Blue British style ensign defaced with the colonial coat of arms. In 1979, ensign was replaced by a blue yellow green triband, bearing a palm leaf emblazoned with the coat of arms. In 1985 the Arms yielded to the stylized V which adorns the flag currently.
