Mongolia Flag SKU: MNG35P
The flag of Mongolia consists of three equal vertical stripes two red stripes at each side and a blue centre stripe. A Soyombo (national emblem) is centered in the left most stripe. It consists of a columnar arrangement of abstract and geometric symbols representing fire, sun, moon, earth, water, and the forces of yin-yang.For many years, the colour red symbolised Mongolia's socialist beliefs and Communist ideology, but has later been redefined as the country’s liberty and progress. Blue, a traditional Mongolian color represents the sky. The Soyombo is Mongolia’s national emblem and as such contains symbolism of Mongolian life and history. Fire representing prosperity, contentment and regeneration. Three flames symbolizing the past, present and future. The sun and moon representing the universe and the nation’s mother (sun) and father (moon).Downward pointing triangles (arrowheads) indicating the willingness to defend the nation. The horizontal rectangles standing for honesty, justice and righteousness.Buddhist ying and yang symbol representing the complementary and opposing forces in the universe. Also seen as two fish with ever-open eyes, watchful and vigilant over the people.Vertical rectangles as pillars symbolizing strength, resolve and hardiness.
