Serbia Flag - Republic of SKU: SRB35P
The flag of Serbia is a tri-colour in the Pan-Slavic tradition bearing three equal horizontal fields of red (top), blue and white. The Serbian tri-colour, has been the flag of the Serbian people for generations. In 1882, when Serbia was proclaimed a Kingdom and again in 1918 when they joined the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes the tri-colour was the national flag. In 1945, A Soviet star was added to the Serbian flag to commemorate becoming a republic within the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It remained until 1991 when communism ended. The Serbian Parliament officially adopted the current version of the flag on August 16, 2004 for use in the Serbian-Montenegrin union. On June 5, 2006, Serbia proclaimed independence after Montenegro voted to leave the state union. Three days later, the Serbian flag was raised for the first time as a national flag at the United Nations.
