New Brunswick Flag - NB
SKU: CNB35P

New Brunswick is Canada's only officially bilingual province. It is one of the four founding provinces in the Canadian Confederation. The former colony was established when a vast influx of United Empire Loyalists flowed into the area following their expulsion from the newly formed United States in 1784.

New Brunswick's provincial flag, based on the coat of arms, was adopted by proclamation on Feb. 24, 1965. The symbols depicted on the flag are taken from the Coat of Arms assigned by Queen Victoria in 1868. The gold lion on a red field reflects New Brunswick's relationship to England and to the Duchy of Brunswick in Germany, which in 1784, was in the possession of King George III. The galley with its oars in action across the base is the conventional heraldic representation of a ship and reflects the two principal economic activities, shipping and shipbuilding, carried on in New Brunswick in the mid 1800s.

Flag Measures 36 in x 60 in and is 100% polyester with grommets for easy flying.
